On Tues., Dec. 18th, more than 800 children from underserved communities throughout North Jersey enjoyed a winter wonderland at the New Jersey Apartment Association (NJAA) Charitable Fund’s Annual Children’s Holiday Party. NJAA members from throughout the state and students from local high schools volunteered at the event which included thousands of gifts, entertainment, lunch and festive treats.
Since 1998, the NJAA Charitable Fund has hosted more than 15,000 children and given thousands of gifts while entertaining them with dancing, face painting, balloon art and a visit with Santa Claus. This year, toys for the event were collected by more than 65 member companies.
“The smiles on everyone’s faces made it clear that this event is not just special for the kids, it’s meaningful to our members as well,” said Jean Maddalon, executive director for the NJAA. “We start planning this party in March and look forward to it all year.”
Hartz Mountain Industries of Secaucus generously donated the space, lighting and catering.
