Strategies for Compliance with New Jersey’s New “Fair Chance in Housing” Law
The NEW “Fair Chance in Housing” Law limits and regulates criminal background screening of residential apartment applicants and will take effect on January 1, 2022.
Also known as “Ban the Box” for the apartment industry, the law will require sweeping changes to apartment firms’ rental applications, tenant selection criteria for criminal background, and application processes and procedures. The law also has significant penalties for non-compliance.
Are you ready to comply with this new law that impacts all landlords in New Jersey? This in-depth seminar will provide attendees with an overview of the new law, compliance requirements, and strategies for risk mitigation.
