We have an immediate need for a well-organized, enthusiastic individual to join our prestigious, award-winning property management team as a Multi-Site Painter at our luxury apartment communities throughout our Jersey City and Port Imperial properties.

Location: Jersey City & Port Imperial, New Jersey 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining interior and exterior upkeep of painted and stained areas of the properties.
  • Completing scheduled commercial painting and wallcovering.
  • Restoring painted areas to their original state across the building.
  • Repair drywall as needed.
  • Tapes and spackles drywall in preparation for painting. Fills nail holes, cracks and joints with putty, plaster, and other filler.
  • Apply specific finishes and color matching, caulks, sands, taps, polishes, and waxes completed surfaces and glazing as needed.

Note: Indoor painting with air conditioning.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent or 2 years of experience in the field.
  • Must have 4 years of commercial painting experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License and insurance.
  • Must have experience with cutting in, brushing, rolling, taping, and being able to keep environment clean.
  • Must be able to work independently without too much direction and control.
  • Must be able to work safely off a step ladder.
  • Must be able to travel and coordinate with properties personnel daily.
  • Knowledge of the building maintenance industry.
  • Transport materials such as tools or supplies at times.
  • Able to safely operate power and hand tools is a must.

Compensation:  $22-24 p/hr

  • Assist in the effort to make vacant apartments rent-ready in a timely manner.
  • Compact and remove trash and debris from community.
  • Ability to use general maintenance tools, supplies and equipment such as, but not limited to, hand tools, pressure washers, blowers, paint equipment, pool equipment, snow and ice removal equipment, etc.

Requirements:

  • Position requires ability to work any of the seven days of the week, 52 weeks of the year.

  • EPA certifications for refrigerant recycling and at a minimum, Type I & II certifications (Please note: Veris will pay for the EPA testing materials and test if completed and passed within 5 months of being hired)
  • Valid Driver’s License and insurance
  • Black Seal – if required by property
  • CPO – Certified Pool Operator Certification – if required by property
  • Other licenses and certifications as required by state or local laws
